Six people were killed and 11 injured in a road accident in Indian-administered Kashmir on Thursday, according to DPA. The accident happened when a small goods vehicle collided head-on with a passenger bus in Doda district some 230 kilometres northeast of the state's winter capital Jammu, the PTI news agency reported. Following the collision, the vehicle fell into a 300-feet gorge, killing all its six passengers, the agency reported quoting official sources. The condition of four injured is termed serious. It was the second major accident involving a passenger bus in India since Wednesday. At least 22 people were killed when a passenger bus hit a tanker carrying chemicals in the western Gujarat state on Wednesday. Thousands of people lose their lives in road-accidents in India annually, due to poorly maintained roads or reckless driving. --SP 22 23 Local Time 19 23 GMT
