The General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection has released the climate report for winter 2019-2020 over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including surface temperature and rainfall forecast for this season, which will begin astronomically from December 22nd 2019 to 20th March 2020. The report forecasted the seasonal surface temperature to increase from the normal temperature in most of Kingdom's regions, while the monthly surface temperature is also expected to increase in December in the southwestern regions of the Kingdom and record an increase around ( 0.25- 0.50) degree. In January and February, it's expected to be around the average temperature in the Kingdom's regions except the borders of the Kingdom will be higher than January temperature in ( 0.25- 0.50) degree. The Authority's report stated that the rainfall is expected to be at the average level generally in this season, while the monthly forecast estimated the rainfall to be also at the average level in the different regions except some northern and northwestern parts where it will be below-average. The report has also noted that some climate changes might occur in the future and these changes will be disseminated in the authority's website.
