Elaborating further on an earlier statement issued on Wednesday concerning the security forces' pursuit of a suspect in the area of the holy sites in Makkah and the shooting and killing of the suspect after he threw a hand grenade at the security men, an official source at the Ministry of Interior said the killed man's name was Abdulrahman bin ObaidAllah Alharbi, a Saudi national. The source added that Alharbi was wanted for the security forces because he was an extremist who directly participated in the criminal activities of the extremist group. He also was one of the people the extremist group depended on to make explosives and car bombs. The source explained that Alharbi was detected in the Khaldiyah apartment in Makkah. That apartment was stormed by the security forces in 14/4/1424 H. Along with the currently held Nimr bin Sahaj Albogomy, Alharbi was the one who fired at the guards of Almohaya compound before it was stormed by an explosive-laden car last Ramadan. He also participated in moving the two explosive-laden cars which were discovered by the security forces near Alrimhiyah province.
