U.S. stocks fell slightly Monday. The U.S. dollar fell to a six-week low against a basket of other currencies, while the euro gained and the yen jumped. Gold futures for February delivery rose $10.70 to $1,215.60 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Oil prices fell on signs of a strong recovery in U.S. drilling. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures declined 47 cents, or nearly 1 percent, to $52.75 a barrel. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 27.40, or 0.1 percent, to 19,799.85. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 6.11, or 0.3 percent, to 2,265.20. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index was virtually unchanged, falling 2.39 to 5,552.94.
