Khobar Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said, "I am pleased to welcome you all in the workshop and Exhibition of Global Methane Initiative, the first ones of their kind being organized in the Middle East, and the two-day workshop is considered a forum of great importance on the subject of interest to the Kingdom, and the world alike''. He added, "Over more than a century, the hydrocarbons are the fuel that runs the economy in all countries of the world, and improves the standards of living and a decent life for their peoples. There are undeniable signs that hydrocarbons will continue to be a key element in the global energy mix in the foreseeable future. To ignore this fact necessarily means the denial of economic reality, especially in developing countries that will need these materials for the implementation of the ambitious development plans in the social and economic spheres". Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman noted that the Kingdom recognizes the need to continue the process of economic development in all countries of the world, but at the same time, it emphasizes the need to take into consideration the relevant climate change, hence the carbon management has always been a cornerstone of the Kingdom's strategy in the field of energy.
