Three mountaineers missing in Nepal in an a avalanche were confirmed dead, the Tourism Ministry said on Friday. According to dpa, the dead were Indian climber Chanda Gayan and her guides, Temba Sherpa and Dawa Wonchu Sherpa, according to Dipendra Paudel at the Mountaineering Department of the Tourism Ministry. An avalanche struck at the height of 7,500 metres on the 8,585-metre Mount Yalang Kang, also known as West Kanchanjunga, killing the three mountaineers, when they were on their way back. The ministry said the avalanche had stuck on Tuesday.
