Economic confidence in the 18-member eurozone posts a surprise gain in February, dpa quoted a survey released Thursday as showing. The European Commission's economic sentiment indicator (ESI) edged up to 101.2 points this month from an upwardly revised January reading of 101. The February increase followed a pickup in sentiment in three of the eurozone's five leading economies - Germany, the Netherlands and Italy. It remained stable in Spain but deteriorated in France, the commission said.
