The driver of a train that derailed outside of Paris is not to blame for the accident that left six dead, France's transport minister said Saturday, according to dpa. The train carrying 385 people crashed onto a platform at the Bretigny-sur-Orge sation, located 40 kilometres south of Paris, at the start of a holiday weekend on Friday. Some 30 people were injured. Frederic Cuvillier told radio station RTL that "human error" was not behind the crash, and that investigators were looking into whether a track malfunction was the cause. The actions of the crew aboard the train traveling from Paris to Limoges narrowly prevented a collision with an oncoming train, Cuvillier said. This is one of the busiest weekends for travel in France, with the country celebrating Bastille Day on Sunday.
