Crown Prince Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired here Monday afternoon a session of the Cabinet. At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet extended to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier, the royal family and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy on the demise of Prince Sattam bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud. The Crown Prince thanked leaders of countries and all those who extended their condolences. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said that the Cabinet discussed a number of political issues in the light of developments at the international arena, and in this regard, the Cabinet tackled the Syrian crisis, stressing the importance of unifying the international vision in dealing with this crisis, the need for the transfer of power, the immediate cessation of shedding the blood of the Syrian people and reaching a solid position saving Syria's security, stability and territorial integrity and responding to the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people. The Cabinet noted the recommendations of the International Conference on cooperation of the United Nations with the Centers for counter-terrorism hosted by the Kingdom, appreciating efforts by all participants in the conference and asserting that the fight against terrorism is a joint global responsibility and integrative work requiring international efforts to combat terrorism in order to safeguard the lives of the innocent people and protect and maintain security and peace in the world. --More
