The Principality of Tabuk Region has intensified its efforts to drain flood water and rain from neighborhoods and roads around the clock through the recruitment of more than 400 employees and workers as well as more than 100 machineries. The Mayor of Tabuk region Mohammed bin Abdul-Hadi Al-Omari said that the situation is stable and under control, both in the valleys or streets within the city. He pointed out that what is being circulated on social internet sites is the flow of water within the valleys, and some pictures clarify some informal houses built in violation of the regulation in Dhaba'an Valley, noting that the Board of Grievances has recently issued a ruling that the houses should be removed from the valley's stream. There are about 72 houses that will be removed after providing houses for their occupants and these houses were vacated by the competent authorities before the flow of the valley, he said. Eng. Al-Omari revealed that the Principality ended nearly two years ago its preparations of a comprehensive study to ward off the dangers of floods and rain water for Tabuk region; and it has been agreed with the Ministry of Finance to allocate amounts for the drainage system during the two five-year plans and the share of the city of Tabuk from these budgets amounted to SR 390 million.
