Saudi newspapers' editorials today focused on Royal Decrees re-constituting the Senior Scholars Council and the Supreme Council for Magistracy, Saudi Interior Minister's visit to U.S., other regional and international issues. Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted the policy of service tenure introduced by the Saudi leadership in the statutes so as to appoint ministers, regional governors and senior officials for a period of four years, which could be extended on the basis of accomplishments of the officials. In this context, the newspaper said the royal decisions issued yesterday, put all officials to the test of short-time to face the challenge seriously, decisively and competitively. Under the title "security partners," Okaz newspaper said that the Kingdom had warned in advance from the very early time about the fallout of international terrorism and the penetration of militants in security systems of the countries around the world. "Ever since that time, the Kingdom had been calling for international cooperation to protect the security of communities from the evils of these categories that do not belong to a religion, ideology or one race but are scattered all over the world." The newspaper added that time has proved the credibility of the Saudi call and that the great hospitality enjoyed by Minister of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Naif in America, his talks with U.S. President Barack Obama and before that his visit to Britain prove the great weight of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its relations with the world in all sectors and areas, including security area. --More
