Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas led by the Reconstitution of Majlis Al-Shura through two royal decrees. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz issued the royal decrees to re-constitute Majlis Al-Shura for a new four-year term and ordered that women should hold at least 20 percent of the seats. Al-Madinah, Al-Yaum and Al-Watan, Al-Bilad newspapers commented on amendments of some articles of the regulation of Majlis Al-Shura, especially concerning the participation of women. The newspaper highlighted the amendments praising the participation of women by a percentage not less than 20%. The newspapers affirmed that this is a giant leap forward for Saudi women and epoch-making journey to Majlis Al-Shoura and help them contribute positively and constructively for the building of the nation and ensuring its continual progress, prosperity and development under the Kingdom's wise leadership. --MORE
