S. Africa crushes West Indies

OF-SPAIN - South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn took three for 65 to finish with eight wickets for the match as South Africa defeated West Indies by 163 runs the fourth day of the first Test Sunday.
West Indies captain Chris Gayle made a power-packed 73 from 106 balls with nine fours and a six in West Indies' second innings 293.
Dawyne Bravo scored 49 from 74 balls with four boundaries and two sixes.
Earlier the West Indies was struggling on 139-4 at tea, needing an improbable 457 for victory at Queen's Park Oval.
All-rounder Jacques Kallis had earlier broken the blossoming third wicket stand of 55 between Gayle and Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
Chanderpaul, who compiled 15 off 48 balls, sparred outside the off stump and edged to second slip.
Morkel made the initial breakthrough in the West Indies innings when he trapped Travis Dowlin leg before at 2-1.
Pace mate Dale Steyn claimed the other wicket as Brendan Nash edged to wicketkeeper Mark Boucher at 39-2.
South Africa had declared midway through the morning session after extending its overnight total from 155-2 to 206-4.
Captain Graeme Smith fell 10 runs short of a century, striking seven fours off 173 balls in 215 minutes.
