Basem International defeated Reliance Cricket Club by six wickets in the final of the Jamiyyatul Falah (JF), Jeddah, for the JF Trophy at the Al-Gharbiya ground here recently. Reliance Cricket Club beat KMCC in semifinals to enter the final while Basem International earned the right due to its highest run rate figure in second round. Basem International skipper Umar Patan won the toss and restricted Reliance to 67 for 7 in the allotted 12 overs. There were four run outs. In reply, Basem International made 70-4 in the 8th over. Prakash of Basem International was declared as Man of the Final for his 2 important wickets. Other awards: Best batsman – Zahid of KMCC (22 sixes); best bowler – Nazeer of Reliance (7 wickets, best being 3-17); Man of the Series – Irshad of Basem International. JF President S. M. Jaffer welcomed the gathering during the awarding ceremony which was presided over by chief guest Ibrahim Mohammed Ibrahim of Basem International.
