AL-MAKHWA – A Saudi man suffered serious injuries to his neck, tongue and nose when he accidentally shot himself in the face. The 25-year-old man was taken to hospital by relatives and remains in intensive care as police investigate the cause of the incident, but officials say they are not treating it as suspicious. A spokesman for Al-Baha Police said that the victim was found to possess bullets and empty cartridges in his car. – Okaz/SG

DAMMAM - The body of a 14-year-old boy was recovered from waters off the Corniche in Dammam after he was overpowered by currents while out swimming with relatives Sunday morning. A Border Guard spokesman said that the area was unsafe for swimming, and noted that 10 persons had been rescued after finding themselves in difficulty in seas in the Eastern Province during the Eid holidays. – Okaz/SG

HAIL – Police in Hail have arrested a man suspected of stabbing to death a 30-year-old man two days ago in the village of Al-Nasya. Police were informed Sunday of a man in the village of Al-Nasya suffering severe stab wounds, one of which reportedly pierced his heart via a shoulder, but the victim died before reaching hospital. – Okaz/SG
Truck sheds load of

AL-MAKHWA – The Al-Baha to Taif highway was closed for half an hour Saturday after a cargo of compacted cardboard fell from a heavy vehicle scattering its large bales of waste across the road. Police said the truck was carrying 15,000 tons of the compacted material which had not been properly secured.
