Judicial consultant Dr. Saleh Al-Luhaidan has said that refrigerating mothers' milk in hospitals to feed unrelated infants is impermissible. “Other children might be fed the same milk, making them brothers without their knowledge,” Al-Luhaidan said. “Hospitals sometimes remove milk from women after delivery for several reasons, such as in case of the death of the mother, or if the child dies and to relieve the mother of the volume of milk,” he added. Al-Luhaidan called for hospital officials to treat the issue with caution and not give infants milk from anyone other than their mothers.
