The Health Affairs Department here is investigating a man's complaint against a medical team at Prince Abdul Mohsin Hospital in Ola governorate. The man claims that the Caesarian surgery which his wife underwent in the hospital left a wound open for 29 days which led to swelling and inflammation. The husband said he admitted his wife to the hospital in December and she gave birth to a healthy baby. “Even though I provided three bags of blood – a liter and a half – that they requested, I was told the wound was not completely stitched,” he said. He demanded compensation for his wife's “psychological distress and physical harm.” Dr. Hamid Bin Ahmad Al-Showaikan, the director general of Ola's health sector, said reports and information on the incident were submitted to the health affairs department in Madina and a committee has been formed to look into the matter. A report will be submitted to the medical violations committee within the next few days.
