Parents have to take responsibility for the moral actions of their children, for it is they who have created and molded them. Will O'Shea The writer tries to hold teachers responsible for being attacked by students. She obviously has no idea whatsoever about the status and respect a teacher is given in Islam, which is the status and respect of a parent. She conveys in her article that it is justified to physically attack your parents if they mistreat you. Yes, this is exactly what she communicates in her article. Nations which do not respect their teachers are doomed. Saudi Arabia must establish respect for its teachers. Softer Stofen One day no teacher will be willing to teach if there is no policy to govern the situation. Allowing students, parents and relatives to attack teachers only shows that such people do not want to have any education at all. On the other hand, schools should be responsible and investigate such problems. No one should be allowed to attack teachers. It is only the authorities which should be permitted to punish teachers if they are found guilty of abusing students in any way. Students should be expelled if they attack or harass teachers.
