Three Africans were sentenced to 22 years in prison and 1,100 lashes combined for attacking and stealing bank clients as they walked out of the banks with money in their possession, authorities said. Police were tipped-off about the three-man gang which used to prey on their victims after coming out of the banks across the Riyadh city to steal their money. An Arab expat said that he was robbed by the gang after putting SR50,000 in the compartment of his car after cashing it from the bank to deposit it in another bank. “My car broke down as I wanted to leave the first bank and suddenly an African man offered to help me,” he said. “I accepted his offer to help, but two other men came and stole the money and all sped away in their car,” he said. Another expat fell victim to the gang when they stole his SR20,000, just a minute after he left the bank.
