JEDDAH — The Dar-ul-Ilm Jeddah conducted their 19th annual prize distribution ceremony recently, honoring students for their efforts in Islamic education. Prizes were given to students in categories such as memorization and recitation of the Qu'ran and Hadeeth (sayings of Prophet Muhammad, pbuh), Islamic knowledge and speeches in Urdu and English. The first prize winner of Qur'an recitation was Zeeshan Mohd Shakir while Farhan Siddiqui got the first prize in Naat presentation. In the Urdu speech category, the first two prizes were given to Mohammad Muddasiir Muhiuddin and Riyasat Ali Siddiqui respectively. In the English speech category, Sarfaraz Mohd received the first prize and Usama Ruhul-Abdeen received the second prize. During the ceremony, students also participated in an Islamic Quiz program, conducted by the Dar-ul-Ilm officials. The students were divided into three groups Fareeq Hazrat Ameer Hamza(RA) Fareeq Abdullah Bin Hajash(RA) and Fareeq Mus'ab Bin Umair (RA). The Fareeq Hazrat Ameer Hamza (RA) group emerged as the winner while Fareeq Abdullah Bin Hajash (RA) received the second prize in the quiz competition. The prize distribution ceremony took place under the supervision of Hafiz and Qari Naveed Afroz . Prizes and certificates were distributed by Syed Abdulrub Hamid, in charge of finance committee; Maslahuddin Jawid, vice president of the school and Imaduddin Qadri “Islamic education is must for all Muslims, and I urge that we make Islamic education a priority among all of our other activities. We should give Islamic education to our children at a young age so that it will become easy for them to remember, and early age education lasts entire lives,” said Afroz. Aleem Khan Falaki, president Socio-reform Society, was the special guest of the evening. He appreciated the winners and congratulated their parents for their success. Mohammed Aijaz presented the educational report in the program. Earlier, the program started with the recitation of some verses from the Holy Qur'an by Mohd Abdul Salam Aziz followed by Naat by Mohd Saleem Qadri.
