This is in response to the article “2,500 Indian volunteers help pilgrims in holy sites,” in Saudi Gazette (Sept 29). Needless to say, the presence of this group of volunteers at Haj sites is immensely helpful for those pilgrims who don't speak or understand Arabic. Equally commendable is the quality and level of services provided by thousands of local Saudi officers. Perhaps, learning some basic English would enhance their communication skills.
