MINA — A Bangladeshi pilgrim committed suicide by hanging himself in a bathroom in the holy site of Mina. Police and forensic officers arrived at the location to collect evidence and make sure that there was no criminal motive behind the death. Police received reports of the incident at around 5 a.m. Eyewitnesses told police that the man was waiting in line to go to the bathroom, and that when he entered, he stayed longer than usual. People knocked on the door, and after the man did not respond they opened the door and found he had hung himself. Friends of the deceased said the man did not suffer any psychological issues that might have lead to him to commit suicide. They told police that he was happy to be on Haj. He, however, told his friends that he was dreaming of dying while wearing Ihram in holy sites so he could go straight to heaven.
