I am writing with regard to the article "We are not foreigners, Egypt!" (Aug. 19) by Samar Al-Mogren. Yes Samar, you are a foreigner in Egypt. After all, you are not an Egyptian. You should feel proud that you are treated like a European or American in Egypt. Just think about all the Saudi children who are treated as foreigners in Saudi Arabia because their Saudi mothers are married to non-Saudis. Sorry, no special treatment for GCC citizens. Maryam, Online response Egypt can impose any laws or regulations it wants and tourists have no right to question them. If tourists do not want to comply and violate the laws they will be penalize. If you don't like the way they treat you as a tourist, then you can go to another country to visit; no one can prevent you from doing so. But please respect whatever policies or regulations that are imposed by the country you are visiting. Abdullah Alzain, Online response I do not understand what the writer wanted to say about Egypt by writing about reducing entry fees to different places of interest and the cost of hotels. Doesn't Egypt have anything other than the Pyramids which makes it special and attractive? Fahd, Online response People from Gulf countries and especially Saudis are the last people who should demand official acceptance by any country in the world since they do not accept, barring a few, those who have lived and worked in their countries for four or five generations and have contributed to the national development.
