With regard to the article "Terror strikes mosque in Abha" (Aug. 7), targeting worshipers and public places is an act of cowardice. These people are trying to defame Islam but they will never succeed in doing so. May Allah bless the departed and may those who have been injured recover fully. Haider, Online response I strongly condemn the Abha mosque attack that claimed 13 lives. Fear Allah and do not destroy lives without just cause. Act according to the teachings of Islam and do not distort the image of Islam with your un-Islamic acts. Dr. Noorul Hasan, Online response May Allah forgive those souls and give them Jannah. May Allah save this country and its people from evil forces. The government must deal harshly with Daesh (the self-proclaimed IS) both inside and outside the country. Islam has no place for those who are deviants and corrupt. Killing an innocent is like killing all of humanity; this is what Islam says. No good Muslim can ever support such an evil act. Shaikh Muhyiddin, Online response More can be done. All places where there are public gatherings including mosques should have metal and other special detectors installed and sniffer dogs should be used at the entrance of every mosque to check for explosives. Checkpoints should be set up in all cities. Unfortunately, this is the appropriate response at this point in time. Saad, Online response
