Although Ramadan is a holy month designed to encourage people to focus more on spirituality, the month is also popular for the launch of new television dramas. The following is a list of seven recommended Arabic Ramadan dramas.
1) Moled We Sahbo This is the second drama featuring Haifa Wahbe and is being broadcast in Ramadan. The cast includes other famous actors, including Fifi Abdo, Hassan Raddad and Bassem Samra. It is directed by Shirin Adel and Jamal Khzeim.The drama is about a poor woman whose life turns upside down when she enters the world of businessmen during the era of Egypt's ousted former President Hosni Mubarak. The woman begins to reveal secrets, including corruption and other issues that make a good storyline.
2) Ard Al-Naam This is a social drama about the period after the revolution of Jan. 25. It deals with some of the different social classes and segments of society through real life stories about extraordinary individuals. Stars featuring in this drama include Rania Youssef, Zaina, Ahmed Zaher and Mohammed Taji. The director is Ghada Slim.
3) Aam Al-Jamr Stars featuring in this drama include Zahra Al-Kharji, Basima Hamada, Fatima Abdul Rahim and Mohsen Tiger. The director is Omar Ibrahim. This drama is set in the 1990s. There is a huge fire in a city leading to several catastrophes. The drama is about what happens to people behind closed doors when difficulties like this occur.
4) Harat Al-Yahood Actors in this drama include Mina Shalabi, Ahmed Fahmy , Iyad Nassar and Jamel Rateb. The director is Mohammed Jamal Adel. The storyline revolves around the period that followed the July 23 Revolution and what life was like for Jews, the political situation and the impact on their lives.
5) Ostaz Wa Raes Qism There should be a drama each Ramadan for Adel Imam. This year, Najwa Ibrahim, Tariq Aziz, Haitham Ahmed Zaki appear alongside him in this drama directed by Wael Ihsan. Adel Imam plays a university professor at the college of agriculture. He lives a quiet life and then becomes involved in the 2011 revolution. He is married and yet without children, which is an issue for him.
6) Al-Solouk The actors in this drama include Khaled El-Sawy, Hassan Hosni, Hisham Abdullah and Sabri Abdel Moneim. The director is Ahmed Saleh. Khaled El-Sawy plays a poor person who lives a random life until he goes to work in the palace of Hassan Hosni and falls in love with his daughter.
7) Low Ani Aref Dr. Habib Galum and Haifa Hussein are the starts of this drama. It is directed by Ahmed Yakoun Al-Mokla. It took two years to film this drama in the UAE. The drama is about the experiences of families in different countries within the Middle East.
