JEDDAH — Mayor of Jeddah Hani Muhammad Abu Ras inaugurated on Wednesday evening the 2,000-meter-long Al-Shabab Lagoon Walkway located behind King Fahd Coastal City. He said the municipality was keen to provide the best services to Jeddah residents and its visitors. He said the new walkways were among the projects to protect public health. Abu Ras said during the past two months one walkway was inaugurated east of Al-Haramain Expressway and south of the Saudi Geological Survey. It has a length of 1,000 meters. Also, the 1,500-meter-long Al-Faisaliah walkway was opened. He said Al-Rehab walkway is being constructed and will have a length of 1,500 meters; it extends from Umm Al-Qura Street in the west to Al-Haramain Expressway to the east. There is also 1,000-meter-long Jamea walkway on Zeid Bin Amr Street north of Al-Faiha. There are 16 walkways in Jeddah distributed in 14 branch municipalities.
