MADINAH — Over 200 joyriders were arrested in Madinah since the beginning of the year, said Gen. Muhammad Ajlan, head of Madinah's Traffic Department. “The Traffic Department will put an end to drifters and secure the streets of the holy city,” he said, adding that in preparation for Ramadan the Traffic Department has met with other government bodies to develop a strategy to ensure the smooth and safe flow of traffic during the holy month. “I call on all of our traffic police to apply the law. Allegations that traffic officials are giving out traffic fines without any reason are untrue,” he said, adding that proof needs to be forwarded to substantiate these claims.
