I am writing with regard to the article "Bangladesh PM slams migrants, calls for trafficking crackdown" (May 25). The comments of the prime minister of Bangladesh have added salt to an open wound. The plight of the migrants many of whom are women and children has touched the hearts of many people while the prime minister's government is making completely irresponsible comments. These migrants have already been punished. They have been starved, beaten and some of them have even been killed by human traffickers, some of whom have a connection to corrupt officials including local MPs. The prime minister should instead bring her own people to justice for the misery that they have created. Anis Chowdhury, Online response
