JEDDAH — About 80 doctors have accused the Health Ministry and the Health Affairs Department in Jeddah of ignoring their repeated requests to be paid their fees for participating in the fight against Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV). The ministry had contracted the doctors, who are from various private hospitals, about 10 months ago to operate the North Jeddah Medical Complex which was made into a quarantine station. According to Makkah daily, each doctor is owed around SR100,000. The doctors said the ministry and the Jeddah Health Department are not only refusing to pay them but also shirking their responsibilities.
