With regard to the article "When will we reclaim Islam's spirit of justice and respect for women?" (Mar. 28), women in Saudi society have never been treated badly by law. They have access to education and healthcare and can travel with a driver or by taxi to necessary places. These things have always been allowed. It is true that some parents marry their daughters off in order to get rich quick or to have grandchildren or to get rid of the responsibility of supporting them, but this has nothing to do with the law. If a woman is barred from the necessary things in life or if her guardian treats her unjustly, she can be patient or she can consult her female elders or the court. Women's feet are not broken nor are they bound. Avid1111, Online response
