With regard to the article "No bargaining on Islamic rules: KSA" (Mar. 17), I was delighted to read the strong statement by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. Every one of the 1.6 billion Muslims will endorse it. Unlike other religions, in Islam there is no division between governance and religion. Islam is a complete way of life and our laws are God made and shown in practice by the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Rightly Guided Caliphs. The Holy Qur'an and Sunnah are our two sources of law and guidance and cover all facets of life. Ismaeel Marikar, Online response Neither Sweden nor any other country has the right to interfere in the internal matters of any sovereign country. That is made clear by the charter of the United Nations, international law, diplomatic norms and above all everyday common courtesy and basic morality about minding one's own business. Muhammad Sarmad Alamgir Dar, Online response I strongly commend the words of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. It baffles me when certain countries think that they can intimidate Muslim leaders and make them compromise their religion. If any Muslim leader yields to their demands, it is partly due to ignorance or as a result of sheer hypocrisy. Islam is a way of life not just a religion as some non-Muslims view it to be. Ibrahim AbdulSalam, Online response I greatly appreciate King Salman's words about justice in Saudi Arabia being implemented correctly and strictly according to Shariah laws. Everyone is equal in Shariah law. Justice seeker, Online response I was very pleased to read the statement of King Salman. May Allah give him the strength to challenge those governments which criticize Shariah law. Goolam, Online response
