With regard to the post “Women will not be safe if they drive” (Feb. 25), women are prudent drivers and are safer behind the wheel of a car than at the mercy of a strange driver. Faith777, Online response In response to Faith777, I can only say that this is only partly right. Women drive less aggressively than men but in many cases, they are also less attentive and are quickly distracted. In Western countries, women have less accidents than men, but in many cases they are the cause of accidents. Male drivers in general have to adapt their macho style of driving to allow women to drive safely. Barthol, Online response So the writer of this post thinks that women should be doubly punished by first being denied the opportunity for normal interactions in society, and then, because of this, denied the right to drive as well? Please ask yourself if this is justice. And if it is not, what do you think that Allah will say to you on the Day of Judgment? To participate in injustice invites punishment. Fatima, Online response If you think that women will not be safe if they drive on the roads in Saudi Arabia, why not create family or women-only highways? Everything else in society here is gender segregated. Reader, Online response
