I am writing with regard to the article "Muslim scholars condemn linking Islam to acts of terrorism" (Feb. 24). As a non-Muslim, I can understand and appreciate the desire for ordinary Muslims throughout the world to want to distance themselves from extremists. Unfortunately, a great many of the terror attacks in the world today are carried out in the name of Islam by misguided people. I personally believe these people have no religion, but that it not how they wish to be portrayed. It is the job of Islamic scholars to reach out with their moderate views to their followers and correct this situation. Simon, Online response
