JEDDAH — The managing director and board member of Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) said on Sunday he is filing a number of lawsuits against the company's board of directors for “harming” his image. Khalid Al-Kaf said he is filing the suits following an announcement by the board last month that he had been suspended from his duties as CEO until investigations into the third- quarter financial results are completed. Al-Kaf said in a press statement that the suits include “other issues related to the board” but did not elaborate. “My reputation has been damaged severely in the whole region even before any investigation had been conducted. Thus, I am pleading for an independent committee to investiagte every member of the board, myself, the internal auditor as well the external auditor, applying the regulations of Saudi Arabia,” Al-Kaf said. “The impression among the public after the board announcement was that I am guilty and responsible (for any wrongdoing) even before any investigation started which hasn't yet untill now,” he added. — SG
