JEDDAH — ISF Karnataka beat Dazzle Super King by 35 runs in the final to claim the Karnataka Noble Trophy (KNT) Cricket Tournament 2014 crown here. Justifying its decision to bat first, ISF Karnataka scored 127-5 in its quota of 10 overs. Chasing the huge target, Dazzle Super King lost wickets at regular intervals and could muster only 92-9. Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah and Jamiyyatul Falah Jeddah organized the tournament, in which 16 teams took part. Chief Guest Hisham Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sayeed, chairman of the Industrial Committee in Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, awarded the winner's trophy to ISF Karnataka captain Shamshuddin Uchhila at a ceremony held soon after the final. The runner-up trophy was given to Dazzle Super King captain Babu by guests of honor Al-Rawhana and Hossam Abdul Aziz. Speaking on the occasion Al-Sayeed said it was a moment of great pleasure for him to be with the expatriate friends who are not only enjoying the game but trying to introduce the sport to the youths as well. ISF's Aftab was declared as Man of the Finals for his all-round performance of 27 not out and 18-3. Aftab was also awarded the Best Bowler of the Tournament for snatching 10 wickets. ISF's Amer Lefty claimed the Man of the Series and Most Sixes awards for scoring 230 runs with 28 sixes. Man of the First Semifinal was Nadeem of ISF Karnataka for his 38 not out. Abdul Waheed from Dazzle Super Kings was the Man of the Second Semifinal for his all-round performance of 15 runs and 14-2. In total 157 sixes were hit in the tournament. In the first semifinal, ISF Karnataka had thrashed Challengers (Lothers) by 25 runs, while Dazzle Super Kings won the other semifinal against Rising Star by 31 runs. The award ceremony started with recitation from the Holy Qur'an by Shaikh Saoud. S.M. Shafy, president of Jamiyyatul Falah Jeddah, welcomed the guests. Nasir Khurshid, general secretary of Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah introduced the guests. Mohammed Mansour briefed the audience on the activities of Jamiyyatul Falah and Karnataka NRI Forum. Krish Jangal from Sunbulla Group gave away Man of the Semifinals awards. Vasu Manche Gawda and S.M. Jafer distributed certificates to match officials, while Roshan Rodrigues and Sabu Chandra distributed certificates to other members of the working committee.
