MUMBAI — One of Bollywood's funny men, Deven Verma, passed away at 77. Verma began his career in the early 60s and by the 70s he was one of the most sought after comedians, winning the first of his three Filmfare Awards for Best Comedian in 1976 for Chori Mera Kaam. His last stint as an actor was in “Calcutta Mail” in which he played Rani Mukerji's grandfather, NDTV reported. Verma was married to Rupa Ganguly, daughter of late actor Ashok Kumar and niece of his actor-singer brother Kishore. — SG
