With reference to the article "20,000 seasonal jobs, only 114 applicants" by Abdullah Al-Dahhas (Aug. 11), This is a blow to Nitaqat, the Saudization program. This is where the Ministry of Labor has been mistaken. Instead of curbing the number of expats in the workplace, let the government emphasis be on creating a job culture among the locals. Otherwise, the current Saudization program will affect the Saudi economy adversely. Ashref, Online response II. Maybe all of them are looking for managerial jobs and not interested in seasonal jobs. Shoaib, Online response III. Ask a Saudi citizen with low educational attainment what kind of job he wants to do and most likely the answer is he wants to start as a deputy manager and head of the company within two ears. Few think of starting from the lower rank. Companies facing 19,886 open positions probably do not want to hire expats. Barthol, Online response
