RIYADH — Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah, head of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, has launched a project that will allow his organization to better locate callers in need of medical services by using mobile networks. The initiative, called “Sahab”, will also facilitate the management of ambulances through the use of satellites with the aim of achieving better response times. The prince said “Sahab” would avoid instances of drivers being unable to locate callers, causing unnecessary delays. He explained the Red Crescent now uses 3D map technology in a bid to improve its services. He said when the Red Crescent receives a call, the mobile number of the caller will appear and his location can be pinpointed. — SG
