I am writing with regard to the article "Needed: Laws against classification and name calling" (Mar. 4). I do not belong to any sect or sheikh. I measure my life not by how many people I have killed but by how many I have helped, not by how many buildings I have destroyed but by how many I have built for the sake of God. If my neighbor is a Christian or a Hindu, etc, he will be safe from me. It is not right to use Islam for political reasons. My honesty for my religion is between me and God. No one has the right to force anyone to be this Muslim or that Muslim. XZaky, Online response II. I have spent all my life being classified by others especially here in Riyadh. I was born in the UK to a Muslim/Pakistani father and a Christian/English mother. I have read both books. I am from a working class background. I support a local football team. I eat food from particular countries and I have friends and work colleagues from all faiths and cultures who nurture my mind. I self identify myself differently. I don't fit into one cultural box but into a rainbow of boxes and I am richer for it. Ramon Mohamed, Online response III. Muslim identity is by character, morality, and behavior in every domain of life as ordained in the Holy Qur'an and Hadith. No one else on this earth has ever been granted any power to redefine. If everyone starts his own definition of Muslim identity and practices as per his wishes, desires and likings, there will be billion of shades of Muslim identity and Islam will simply vanish like other religions. This is a matter of serious concern. Mohammed, Online response
