Adnan Al-Shabrawi Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Judicial orders have been issued for extraditing 25 persons wanted in a number of cases. The files of wanted persons who fled the Kingdom are being studied so as to bring them back to the Kingdom to face trial. An informed source said that most of the crimes – which include murder, conning, cheating, embezzlement, money laundering, smuggling and dealing in drugs – were committed in Jeddah and Riyadh. The authorities will take the help of the Interpol and coordinate with other agencies within and outside the Kingdom. Special crime investigation offices, which coordinate with such agencies outside the Kingdom, started their work at the beginning of this year to follow up on wanted persons and get them repatriated to the Kingdom. These offices issue arrest warrants according to the regulations, directives and bilateral regional and international agreements on extradition of wanted persons. Earlier this month, the King issued a royal decree that punishes citizens who fight in conflicts outside the Kingdom, with prison sentences ranging from three to 20 years in jail. The statement issued by the Saudi Royal Court stated that anyone who took part in acts of killing outside the Kingdom or joined extremist terrorist groups or supported them materially or verbally through incitement would also face imprisonment. The royal court said the king's decree was issued in accordance with Shariah.
