German golfer Sophie Witt and English golfer Georgia Hall took the lead in the Aramco Saudi Ladies International (ASLI), presented by the Public Investment Fund, in its first day of competitions at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City. Witt and Hall managed to golf score 3 under par to take the lead on the opening day of the tournament before U.S. golfer Angel Yin, fellow countrywoman Lindsey Weaver and the Swedish golfer, Anna Nordqvist who is the ambassador for Golf Saudi and the Aramco Team Series, runners-up, with score 2 under par. The competitions of this edition of ASLI witnessed the participation of 3 professional Arab female golfers for the first time in the history of the Ladies' European Tour competitions: Maha Hadioui (two strokes over par), Inas Lakalech (3 strokes over par) and Lina Belmati (10 strokes over par). Thursday's shot was also shared by the 23-year-old French golfer Charlotte Liautier, who managed to put the ball into hole No. 8 with a single shot from a distance of 144 yards. The ASLI will continue on its second day, Friday, March 18. All competitions are broadcast live around the world, in addition to the SSC channel, which broadcasts live inside the Kingdom and in the region.
