Ali Al-Sahari Okaz/Saudi Gazette QUNFUDAH — A power cut in Qunfudah General Hospital on Sunday night caused havoc among patients and staff. A citizen even held the hospital responsible for the death of his brother, who was in intensive care. He claimed there were repeated power cuts and the third one caused the life support equipment attached to his brother to stop working. Doctors tried to revive him but failed. Spokesman for Qunfudah Health Affairs Muntaser Bakhsh denied that the power outage caused the patient's death. He said the electricity company coordinated with the hospital to cut off power for 10 minutes and there were emergency generators that supplied power to the hospital in such cases. A source for Saudi Electricity Company confirmed that the power was cut off for approximately 40 minutes.
