Indian Study Circle organizes literary contest on ‘Seerat-un-Nabi'

JEDDAH – The Indian Study Circle organized a literary contest dubbed “Youm Rehmat-ul-Alameen (A day of peace and mercy) at the Indian Consulate on Thursday.
The contest was themed around “Seerat-un-Nabi” (Tradition of the Prophet [peace be upon him]).
Thirteen schools participated in the contest which was divided into three parts: Speech, Qirat recitation, Naat (Eulogy) and Quiz competitions.
Many eminent personalities of the Indian community along with students from various schools were in attendance.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Jamalullah Qadri, president of the Indian Study Circle said: “Our aim is to educate the new generation about the different aspects of life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).”
The program was hosted by Mohammed Faheem, chief coordinator of Indian Study Circle, and Mohammed Minhajuddin.
The Qirat contest was judged by Hafez Habeebuddin, Mohammed Abid Nadwi, and Qari Abbas Khan.
The first position in the Qirat contest for girls was bagged by Shahana from Indian International School Jeddah (IISJ), Sheza Fathima T.P from Novel International School stepped in second and Fathima Zakiyya from IISJ came in third.
The first three position holders in the boys' category were Salahuddin from Al Wurood International School, Ahmad Fara from IISJ and Muhammed Mujtaba Ali from Al Noor International School.
Fatima Sarwar from IISJ was the winner of the Naat contest (girls) followed by Firdous Akbar from Al Noor and Zainab Rahman Khan from Al Wurood. Syed Ahmed Raza Qadri was declared the winner in the boys' category followed by Mohammed Abdul Suboor Arqam and Syed Abu Bakar Qadri – all from BMG.
The Naat contest was judged by Nayeem Bazaid Puri, Irfan Barabankawi, Naser Barni and Mohsin Alwi.
In the Speech Contest (girls) Afnan from IISJ came in first, Aameena Aprose Kathija from Al Wurood second and Maria Ahmed from IISJ third. In boys Hurairah Khaleeq from IISJ came in first followed by Affan Mohammed Nawaz from Al Wurood and Owais Ali Khan from Al Noor in the second and third places respectively.
Izhar Urdu Toastmaster Club Jeddah along with other judges finalized the winners.
Quiz competition winners (girls) are Hafsa Mohammed and Munzzah Tanveer from IISJ followed by Usra Rauf and Usmani Zikra from Dauha Al Uloom, and Fathima Mohammad Ali and Safa Mohammed from Al Noor. In the boys category Salman Ambalancheri from Al Noor was the first position holder, Talha Shamshad Ansari and Usaid Saud from IISJ and Mohammed Ismail and Abdul Hameed Khan from Al Wurood were the second and third position holders.
Azeemunissa, Islamic Studies teacher and Naat-in-charge at Al Wurood, said: “The program was very beneficial for the students as they learned more about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).”
The quiz was arranged and organized by Qadri and the vote of thanks was delivered by Syed Mohammed Khalid Hussain.
