The ministry has dispatched field inspectors to insure that companies are following the recent directive that bans workers from working in the sun between 12 to 3 p.m. Sulaiman Al-Shadookhi, director of the labor office in Al-Qassim, said that a group from his office visited workers and distributed water to them and told them that the labor laws are on their side. “These visits seek to prevent companies from making their employees work under the sun." “We distributed water bottles to laborers in the street and explained to them that the labor laws ban companies from making their employees work during the afternoon." Companies which have been given warnings will face penalties if they repeat the violation, he added.
