Batsmen, bowlers share honors in WPCA

Zultec, AOT GFC and Dopco emerged winners in the Premier League, while Atlas, Desert Lions, Mehmood Saeed, Al-Safree XI, Marine Services, MCH Green and Crown Blue came up trumps in the Afternoon matches and Al-Saudi XI, AAA, ATS and Attieh Steel scored wins in the Morning ties at the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) 11th week action here.
AOT GFC beat Usman Gems by four wickets to end its victory run. Batting first Usman Gems scored 205-9 with Zahid Riyaz making 49, Nadeem Butt 40, ijaz 36 and Moazzam 35. Qaiser took 3-41, Faiq 2-5, while Nasir, Imran and Kashif clamied a wicket each for AOT GFC. Faisal opening for AOT GFC blasted 67 off 28 balls, while Shahzad made 34 as the team reached 206-6 to score the win. Zahid and Hashim took two wickets each.
In the other match Zultec beat Mazco by five wickets. Mazco team crashed for 122 as Mohammed Yusuf took 5-18, Khalid Iqbal 2-25 and Usman 2-28. Amer Ali with 27 and Rashed Malik with 21 were the two who tried to stop the fall. Zultec chased the required 127 for the loss of five wickets as Bilal Malik remained unbeaten on 56 and Javed scored 19. Umer took 3-40.
In the third match Dopco thrashed IDBG by seven wickets. IDBG put on 153-5 with Abubaker making 55 off 20 balls, Khalid Butt adding 37 and Shoaib 27. Javeed claimed 3-30, while Riyaz and Khurram claimed a wicket each. Dopco achieved the target of 154 for the loss of three wickets as Maqsood remained not out on 41 and Nadeem scored 40 and Usman 33.
In the Afternoon matches Atlas humbled MCC by seven wickets. MCC was restricted to 124-8 with Amir Shahzad top scoring with 41. Arshad bagged 3-29, Saqib Butt 3-31 and Imran 2-13. Atlas in reply was home with 125-3 as Usman remained unbeaten on 59 and Imran hit 29.
Desert Lions beat Hala Academy Blue by one wicket. Taking the strike first Hala put on 142-5 with Talha plundering 87 off 60 balls. Rohan bagged 2-24. Desert Lions got to 143-9 with Rumesh making 49 and Rohan 36. Safiullah took 3-22, Fahad 2-19 and Ramzan 2-34.
Mehmood Saeed thrashed GGI by nine wickets. GGI scored 137-3 with Shariq scoring 24 and Pervez 21 as Abdul Aziz scalped 2-26. Mehmood Saeed achieved the target of 139 for the loss of one wicket.
Al-Safree beat Zultrack by four wickets. Batting first Zultrack scored 175-5 with Chand hitting 65, Rashed 42 and Khadim 30. Zahid grabbed 2-20 and Wasiq 2-30. Al-Safree reached the victory target (177) on the last ball for the loss of six wickets with Zahid making 44 and Shahid 35. Emad took 2-29 and Imran 2-35.
In other matches Marine Services beat Gymkhana by eight wickets; Jotun Paints ended My Care Hala Green's victory run with a nine-wicket win; and Crown Blue beat Alpha SL by 16 runs.
The Morning action saw Al-Saudi XI crush Al-Mazroi XI by nine wickets; AAA beat Johnson Control Blue by 57 runs; ATS got the better of Hala Academy White to end its victory march; and Attieh Steel was declared winner against Rayyan Khan.
