What makes you happy? Think about it. We may all come up with a list of things, but for some exceptional people, they become happy by making others happy. Members of the Saudi Home Health Care Association (SHHCA) are some of the few who organize special events for children suffering from cancer. The SHHCA in association with Chucky Cheese invited 500 children suffering from cancer to a colorful party packed with fun activities. The children played with colored sand, laughed at clowns and enjoyed different rides. “Such events are held twice a year, the first is held at the beginning of the academic year and the other at its end,” said Wejdan Kutah, entertainment programs organizer for the SHHCA. “Events like these are needed so patients can forget about their diseases. We consider these as part of our treatment programs,” Kutah said. Many mothers find that their disabled children refuse to play with their healthier siblings despite the insistance of the mothers. They prefer to play with friends from the association, said Kutah. Aziza Al-Wazeer, a volunteer from Al-Eman Association which takes care of cancer patients, said, “I like helping people. In my opinion I can give and support each case better by being part of it and by putting in my physical time and effort I'm doing more than simply donating money. That's why I am here today.” She wants more and more people to volunteer for social causes. She suggested the Ministry of Education include courses and subjects in the universities, which promote volunteering. Students from Dar Al-Hekmah College and Dar Al-Fikr School volunteered at the event. __
