The truths behind the Qatari regime's terror funding and numerous other malicious acts against its own people and the region have been exposed in the fifth episode of the "Terrorism...Facts and Evidence" program televised by Sharjah Channel. Other misdeeds of the regime exposed by the channel include tampering with the state and people's financial capabilities, indulging in suspicious transactions to buy loyalties by misusing governmental posts, using various tactics to clear its reputation and paint itself as the victim, even as it continues pursing a political agenda that seeks to destabilize the region. The episode was hosted by UAE University Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Sobeihy from the studio. Joining him were Member of the Royal Institute for International Affairs Dr. Abdullah Hamouda from London, and Economist Analyst Abdel-Wahab Al-Fayez from Riyadh. Al-Sobeihy began his talk by highlighting the irrational behavior of the Qatari leaders and their dealings with extremist organizations and bodies that Qatar openly supports financially and politically. He said that the entire Qatari issue was related in some way or the other to the political structuring of the state. The political direction of the state was based on the whims of some individuals, causing considerable harm to the country and the region. It was the basic cause of regional enmity. He added that Qatar extends support to different terrorist groups in various ways, whether they are in Iraq, Syria, or Yemen. The Qatari regime speaks of democracy on one hand, while on the other it supports bloodshed on the ground. If the Qatari regime was genuinely keen on Arab unity, it would have invested its financial capabilities accordingly, in the interest of the common people. Al-Sobeihy further said that for the Qatari regime the money spent on supporting terrorists was not considered to be much. But the funds squandered by the Qatari regime in every direction will soon run out if it continues on this path. Qatari funds are going to its allies to destabilize the Arab countries and destroy their capabilities. But Qatar will lose all its wealth one day, Al-Sobeighy warned. For his part, Abdel-Wahab Al-Fayez said that the huge funds being disbursed to spread terrorism indicates the reckless behavior of the rulers in Doha. Qatar spent as much as US$ 64 billion in the funding of terrorism, which has adversely affected its reputation in the Arab world. The Doha regime has caused much harm to the local economy. Billions of dollars have been spent on subversive activities which should have otherwise been spent on the welfare of the Qatari state. In his comments, Dr. Abdullah Hamouda made clear that the Gulf boycott was drying the sources of terror funding and was bearing fruit, day by day. The boycott was working on the economic as well as the political front, which would soon force the Qatari regime to come to its senses and learn from its mistakes. Hamouda expressed surprise at Qatar's stance, considering its limited political reach. It was trying to prove itself through a voice that was not really its own. The secret schemes pursued by the Qatari regime bought it loyalty and all kinds of support. The television program used several graphics to illustrate Qatar's terror links, and to expose the regime's loot of the country's finances, whether through oil revenues or other economic returns. The graphics also reflected the huge expenses of the state, not commensurate with its earnings from oil and gas.
