The Minister of Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of General Organization for Grain Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli has expressed his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown prince, on the occasion of the completion of purchasing the entire wheat crops from local farmers and agricultural companies for the current season (1436/1437), in implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers that authorized the General Organization for Grain to purchase quantities of locally produced wheat for the current season that exceed the authorized quantities. The Minister explained in a press statement that the total amounts received from farmers and agricultural companies for this year amounted to (722, 333) tons including (510,715) tons supplied from farmers and (211,618) tons from agricultural companies, amounting to SR 685, 554,936. He noted that this season is the last one for the purchase of locally produced wheat according to the rules and procedures for rationalizing water consumption and regulating their use in agricultural areas in all cities and villages in the Kingdom according to the decision of the Council of Ministers No. (335) dated 09/11/1428 AH.
