Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait; Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Minister of Information and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs opened here today the meetings of the 43rd Conference of the General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies being hosted by Kuwait during the period from 11 to 14 Safar, 1437AH. Addressing the conference, the President of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) and President of Saudi Press Agency Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein expressed the pleasure of all to meet in sisterly Kuwait to attend the conference. He reviewed what is being witnessed by the Arab region of successive developments and accelerated events to a high degree of importance which shoulder enormous responsibilities upon news agencies necessitating further work and perseverance to maintain their positions as the most secure sources of news and continue their march in providing distinctive, influential and active information enjoying trust and respect in light of the information and technological revolution resulting in multiple tributaries of different goals and objectives. President Al-Hussein stressed that the Federation of Arab News Agencies is moving in the right direction, heading towards the future at a steady pace and achieving its main objectives in terms of joint action and consolidating cooperation between Arab News Agencies, noting that the Federation has completed during the past two years its missions and works in the required manner and carried out its various programs and activities. The conference was also addressed by Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Minister of Information and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs, the Secretary General of the Federation of Arab News Agencies Dr. Farid Ayyar, and Chairman of Board of Directors and Director General of Kuwait News Agency Sheikh Mubarak Al-Du'aij Al-Sabah.
