Major General Mansour Al-Turki, security spokesman for the ministry of interior, stressed that the crime rate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in last year (1435H) is decreased by 10.01%, pointing out that the number of the crimes during last year reached about 96.000 crimes where the security men arrested about 70% of perpetrators of these crimes. This came during a press conference held yesterday to highlight the crime rates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1435H. Money crimes registered a decrease in its general index, according to the security spokesman for the Interior Ministry. He explained that as examples, car theft crimes fell by 11.85%; house theft crimes' index fell by 16.3%; robberies of shops fell by 16.6%; and crimes against properties' index fell by 24.2%. Maj. Gen. Mansour al-Turki added that the crimes of murder amounted to 339 crimes. Security spokesman of the Interior Ministry Maj. Gen. The security spokesman said the report prepared by the Interior Ministry's anti-crime research center will be issued on a regular basis in the future, noting that this initiative is based on the principle of transparency by the ministry and its affiliated sectors.
